Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation Honored with Two Anthem Awards
Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation Honored Twice as a Winner in the Category of Humanitarian Action & Services for the 4th Annual Anthem Awards
The Foundation’s mission is to support and empower those working to bring about high impact and sustainable social change that improves communities and lives. To carryout this mission, the Foundation seeks to provide support through resources, thought leadership, and networking opportunities in addition to providing social entrepreneurs with pro bono legal assistance from Lex Mundi member firms.
Foundation staff have been honored to accept multiple invitations to present our mission and work over the last few months. These events provided the Foundation with opportunities to meet social entrepreneurs and those supporting them in person, and highlight the work of key supporters and stakeholders.
In April, Isis Bous, the Foundation’s Managing Director joined a roundtable at the French Embassy hosted by the High Commissioner for Social and Solidarity Economy and Social Innovation.
The roundtable brought together a group of a dozen leading thinkers from across the Washington D.C. region to discuss social innovation as well as new strategies for engaging communities and for scaling high-impact initiatives.
After returning from London where she presented the Foundation’s Annual Awards to the five Lex Mundi member firms mentioned above, she gave a presentation about the Foundation’s work and answered questions from this year’s AARP Purpose Prize winners and fellows.
Meanwhile, Andrew Morgan, the Foundation’s Legal Program Director traveled to San Francisco where he participated in a panel at Berkeley Law School, discussing opportunities for legal clinics to engage social entrepreneur clients. Morgan then presented in Boston to an inspiring cohort from one of the Foundation’s newest collaborators, MIT SOLVE, and provided office hours for several of the social enterprises in attendance.
These events are a great opportunity for the Foundation to spread the word about its mission, directly engage with social entrepreneurs on the legal issues they are facing and hear about the inspiring work that these organizations and individuals are doing everyday to make an impact!
